Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / long pattern !

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,my problem is that i have a pattern which is 23" long but my saw clearance is only 11".

I?ve tried spirals and they not only dont like me , they hate me !!

have read that i could turn the blade ends 90? but can i do that with all blade sizes or is there a limit??

Here in South Germany it?s got a bit cold over the last few days. Today it?s minus 14?C which is about 0?F.

my Cellar/workshop has 0?C /32?F to cold to work (sob).

Hi All pattern makers, I Have just recieved a bunch of 2/0 FD Blades from " Torsten" ,and even though i?m a beginner would like to try my hand at a portrait. Being a Englishman and Royalist i thought it would be nice to have a portrait of the Queen, Can anybody help me?

Grampa, have you thought of doing one and sending it to her as a 60th Birthday present, she would surely Like your very skilled craftsmanship as designer and Scroller.

Computer questions / Drawing program ?

I Have tried to make a simple pattern on Open Office Draw but it only offers me the ending odg. to save to. Now  i cant get my design tranfered to PosterRazor. how can i change the ending to jpeg or something similar or can someone sugest another freeware program that i could use ? Thanks in advance (hug).

Hi All , wanted to share this with you.

I got an offer in the post yesterday....a Cruise around the Med end of Jan 2012 starting in Venice and going to Bari(italy), Rhodos (Greece), Haifa (Israel) 2days , Piraeus (Greece) and back to Venice. Outside cabin,10 Days, with bus to Venice and back for !! drumroll!!   420? (558$). I think it took my wife and i 2 minutes to phone up and book,all i?ve got to do now is get time off work lol.

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Veneer ?

Hi All Scrollers, i have a problem.Due to the fact that i cant get hold of high quality wood, i would like to try to use Veneer.The question is How ?  Stack cut the veneer and ply and then stain the inside cuts before glueing,or first glue the veneer and then carfully stain the inside cuts, or any other method ? i am looking forwood to your sugestions/Solutions.

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Finishing Boxes ???????

Hi All, I?m new to sawing and i have read and followed Steve?s advice about finishing. Got a tray with oil and dip my stuff, work very well ( i think). Thats ok for flat stuff but the Boss (my wife) wants me to do a box !
How do I finish it, first dip and then glue(when yes what sort of glue do i use)or glue and then apply oil with a brush. Would be very happy for some help.  Sawdust march.
