General Scroll Saw Talk / "Heritage' plywood update...
« on: October 21, 2010, 11:02:17 am »
I got my order and am glad I only ordered 8 sheets of 1/8" for ornaments!
It definitely does not compare with the BB from Sloans! It is also NOT totally clear on one side!
I have not called them yet but intend to do so today. Will keep you all posted.

The p/wood seems to be birch but my guess is it is intended more for cabinet and drawer use.

The Coffee Shop / Proctologist?
« on: October 20, 2010, 06:05:44 pm »
I remember the twin boys who always wanted to be together and so after High School they went to Medical School together but there they separated when choosing their 'Specialties'.
One became a Pshychiatrist and the other a Proctologist.

After their residencies they wanted to open a joint practice but werre stuck on what to name their joint practice and offices.

After many weeks of construction and searching they finally asked the construction foreman what he thought they should name it and when he answered they immediately went to the architect and had him design a fancy sign for the front of the building.

At the grand opening the sign was revealed and there it was....

The Coffee Shop / Bubba gives emergency First Aid!
« on: October 20, 2010, 11:07:27 am »
Bubba and Willie Joe walk into a restaurant.
While having a bite to eat, they are discussing their moonshine operation.

Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table, who is eating a sandwich, begins to cough. After a minute or so, it becomes apparent that she is in
real distress. Bubba looks at her and says,
'Kin ya swallar?'

The woman shakes her head no.

Then he asks, 'Kin ya breathe?'

The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no.

The Bubba walks over to the woman, lifts up her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a long, sloppy lick with his tongue.

The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth.
As she begins to breathe again, the Hillbilly walks slowly back to his table.

Willie Joe says, "Ya know, I'd heerd of that there 'Hind Lick Maneuver' but I ain't niver seed nobody do it!' 'Works like a charm, don't it!"

General Scroll Saw Talk / Oak Table...Question....
« on: October 17, 2010, 01:11:33 pm »
Well the first coat of Poly is on the table top!
Should be finished and assembled by the end of the week.
Taking Pix as I go.

Question: I have decided to make a leaf for the table. The top measure 3/4" thick and 45 !/2" at the center where leaf will fit.
I'm getting quotes on 12" and 16" wide boards.

Any suggestions on where to obtain the slab? I don't have the equipment to plane myself and would rather not attempt a 'glue-up' of that size.

I just emailed Heritage and Thinboards for pricing. Any other vendors that you would recommend?

The Coffee Shop / "Divorced Barbie"

The Divorced Barbie Doll

One day a father gets out of work and on his way home he suddenly remembers that it's his daughter's birthday. He pulls over to a Toy Shop and asks the sales person, 'How much for one of those Barbie's in the display window?' The salesperson answers, 'Which one do you mean, Sir? We have: Work Out Barbie for $19.95, Shopping Barbie for $19.95, Beach Barbie for $19.95, Disco Barbie for $19.95, Ballerina Barbie for $19.95, Astronaut Barbie for $19.95, Skater Barbie for $19.95, and Divorced Barbie for $265.95'.

The amazed father asks: 'It's what?! Why is the Divorced Barbie $265.95 and the others only $19.95?'

The annoyed salesperson rolls her eyes, sighs, and answers: 'Sir..., Divorced Barbie comes with: Ken's Car, Ken's House, Ken's Boat, Ken's Furniture, Ken's Computer, one of Ken's Friends, and a key chain made of Ken's jewels.
