A most heinous act was commited against children today, a gunman killed at least 26 people with at least 18 of the children at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn..  A moment of reflection and prayer for those that have been affected by this; especially at this time of year.  No motive is yet known the gunman was found dead (shot, by someone ).

Had a pretty good 2 day craft show this weekend.  Lots of people both of my piggy banks sold very early on as well as a lot of my boxes and bowls.  My miniature turkeys and Rudolph's sold out each day and I had to make more.  I have one more this weekend and then I am done for the holidays.  Here is a picture of my setup.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Great Deal
« on: October 31, 2012, 08:14:49 pm »
Tonight I purchased a cedar chest ( 8 foot x 10 foot x 7 foot x 1.4 thick ).  Yes they paneled a whole room with cedar; walls and ceiling.  I got the whole thing for just $40. It will take me a little while do disassemble it into useful pieces but doable.  Each piece is tongue and groove and is 2 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick and various lengths from 1 foot to 3 feet.  Looks like I am going to be making a LOT of cedar things in the near future;)

Brag Forum / Oval White Cedar Bowl
« on: October 28, 2012, 02:09:43 pm »
I was given a 10 foot long x 12 inch wide x 3/4 inch thick badly cupped board that appeared to be weather worn pine after running it through my thicknesser it turned out to be white cedar.  Now I have a board that is only 5/8 thick now but had gorgeous grain.  I designed this and cut it at a 31? LSD ( Left Side Down ).  The finish is shellac.  The bowl is 11 inches long x 6 inches wide x 2 1/4 inches deep.
