Recieved a phone call today from Cory he has been beaten by four of his fellow Marines. Possible concussion and broken ribs. Apparently four other Lance Corporals that had spent a tour of duty in Afghanistan decided Cory had not paid his dues. His friend Little found out and went to Cory's aid. They told them if anyone found out they would put a bullet in their head. These pieces of crap had no idea that Little (my sons best friend since boot camp) father is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps. Little got Cory back to his room and called his father who woke the Base Commander up from his sleep last night and informed him of what was going on at his base.

At this time Cory is ok I talked to him this afternoon and an investigation is underway. He is very discouraged and ready to come home. He was will willing to give his life for his country and fellow Marines only to be attack by those who he serves with.

I received a phone call from the Colonel (base commander) apologizing and telling me that he is personally seeing after Cory and as of tonight four Lance Corporals are in the brig facing court martial and prison time. He assured me that this is not tolerated or accepted in the Marine Corps. He also said that the new recruits where not suppose to be able to mix with the others after arriving, so there was a breakdown of the system and other reprimands would follow.

I may be flying out to California. Will try to keep everyone updated, just really hard for me and my family at this time.  :(

‎(While clicking my heals three time) There is no place like home, there is no place like home, there is no place like home. Yes, we have made it home safe and sound. Thank you one and all for you comments and thoughts. We where able to spend about four hours with Cory Thursday and after Graduation Friday about five hours. We where able to see him off at the airport as he continues on to the next chapter in his life as a Marine. It is really hard to let him go, but I am also so very proud of my son Cory.  :)

The Coffee Shop / Husband Down
« on: January 16, 2012, 08:43:31 am »
A husband and wife are shopping in their local Wal-Mart. The husband picks up a case of Miller Lite and puts it in their cart.

'What do you think you're doing?' asks the wife. 'They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans', he replies. 'Put them back, it's a waste of money', demands the wife, and so he does and they carry on shopping.

A few aisles further on along, the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket.

What do you think you're doing?' asks the husband... "It's my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,' replies the wife.

Her husband retorts: 'So does 24 cans of Miller Lite and it's half the price....'  :o  :o  :o

HUSBAND DOWN, AISLE 7 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Opening Up Holes
« on: January 12, 2012, 02:37:28 am »
If your a bottom feeder then this will help. Ever notice how after you drill the holes, even after sanding the back, some of the holes are not open up enough. Next time take an xacto knife and place it in the hole a little ways and give it a light twirl. It will open up the hole and you won't fight to get the blade through.  ;)

Brag Forum / Portrait Pattern Finished
« on: January 08, 2012, 08:58:42 am »
Well here it is. My first Portrait Pattern finished. It was easy to cut, but I had to make a couple of changes while cutting. One was the 2010 in the original pattern was a floater. No big deal, just moved it down to the bottom to tie it in. I am very pleased and can't wait to see Amber's reaction. I will be giving it to Amber today at her birthday party. Thanks for everyone's interest and comments. :)

The Coffee Shop / The Ostrich
« on: January 08, 2012, 07:01:54 am »
A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him.
The waitress asks them for their orders.
The man says, "A hamburger, fries and a coke,"
and turns to the ostrich, "What's yours?"
"I'll  have the same," says the ostrich.
A short time later the waitress returns with the order.
"That will be $9.40 please."
The man reaches into his pocket and
pulls out the exact change for payment.
The next day, the man and the ostrich come again
and the man says,
"A hamburger, fries and a coke."
The ostrich says, "I'll have the same."
Again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.
This becomes routine until the two enter again.
"The usual?" asks the waitress.
"No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak,
baked potato and a salad," says the man.
    "Same," says the ostrich.
Shortly the waitress brings the order and says,
"That will be $32.62."
Once again the man pulls the exact change
out of his pocket and  places it on the table.
The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer.
  "Excuse me, sir.
How do you manage to always come up with
the exact change in your pocket every time?"
    "Well," says the man,
"several years ago I was cleaning the attic and found an old lamp.
When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes.
My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything,
I would just put my hand in my pocket
and the right amount of money would always be there."
    "That's brilliant!" says the waitress.
"Most people would ask for a million dollars or something,
but you'll always be as rich as you want
for as long as you live!"
  That's right,
Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce,
the exact money is always there," says the man.
The waitress asks, "What's with the ostrich?"
The man sighs, pauses and answers,
"My second wish was for a tall chick
with a big a$$ and long legs who agrees with everything I say.."

The Coffee Shop / The Stand Off: Squirrel vs Hawk
« on: January 07, 2012, 10:03:18 am »
So I am out back going to my shop when I look up and see this beautiful Hawk perched in a tree. I stood and watched him thinking he would see me and fly away but he didn't. So I went back in the house to get the camera and started taking a few pictures. Hard to hold the camera still aiming up so only a few weren't blurry. Well much to my amazement what happened next. This squirrel came out to challenge the Hawk three times his size. He made some noises bowed up and finally chased the Hawk away. If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't believe it, plus I got pictures to prove it. Enjoy.!
