The Coffee Shop / Super Bowl seat.....
« on: February 04, 2011, 04:00:20 pm »
A woman had 50 yard line tickets for the Super  Bowl. As she sat down, a man
>        came  along and asked  her  if anyone is sitting in the seat next to her.
>        "No," she said,  "the  seat is empty."
>
>        "This is incredible," said the man.  "Who in their  right mind would
>        have a seat like this  for the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the world,  and
>        not use it?"
>
>        Somberly, the woman  says,  "Well... the seat actually belongs to me. I
>        was supposed to  come here with my husband, but he passed away. This is the  first
>        Super Bowl we have  not been to together since we got  married in 1967."
>
>        "Oh I'm sorry to hear that, that's  terrible. But couldn't you find
>        someone else - a friend or  relative or even a neighbor to take the seat?" The woman shakes  her
>        head, "No, they're all at the  funeral."

The Coffee Shop / "Murder at Wal~Mart"....details below!
« on: February 04, 2011, 02:11:39 pm »
This is corny but what the heck it just might make you smile.

MURDER AT WALMART

Tired of constantly
being broke & stuck in an unhappy marriage, a young husband decided
to solve both problems by taking out a large insurance policy on his wife
with himself as the beneficiary, and then arranging to have her killed.

A 'friend of a friend'
put him in touch with a nefarious dark-side underworld figure who went by the
name of 'Artie.' Artie explained to the husband that his going price for
snuffing out a spouse was $5,000.

The
husband said he was willing to pay that amount, but that he wouldn't have any
cash on hand until he could collect his wife's insurance money. Artie
insisted on being paid at least something up front, so the man opened
his wallet, displaying the single dollar bill that rested inside.
Artie sighed, rolled his eyes, & reluctantly agreed to accept the
dollar as down payment for the dirty deed.

A few
days later, Artie followed the man's wife to the local Super Wal-Mart
store. There, he surprised her in the produce department & proceeded
to strangle her with his gloved hands. As the poor unsuspecting woman
drew her last breath & slumped to the floor, the manager of the produce
department stumbled unexpectedly onto the murder scene. Unwilling to
leave any living witnesses behind, ol' Artie had no choice but to
strangle the produce manager as well.

However,
unknown to Artie, the entire proceedings were captured by the hidden security
cameras & observed by the store's security guard, who immediately
called the police. Artie was caught and arrested before he could even leave
the store.

Under intense
questioning at the police station, Artie revealed the whole sordid plan,
including his unusual financial arrangements with the hapless husband
who was also quickly arrested.

The next day in the
newspaper, the headline declared...

(You're
going to hate me for this...)

'ARTIE CHOKES 2 for $1.00 @ WAL-MART!'

Oh, quit
groaning! I don't write this stuff, I receive it from my warped
friends and then send it on to you

The Coffee Shop / Parking the car....
« on: February 02, 2011, 10:29:20 pm »
I pulled into the crowded parking lot at the
local shopping center and rolled
Down the car windows to make sure my
Labrador Retriever Pup had fresh air.

She was stretched full-out on the back seat
and I wanted to impress upon her that she must
remain there.

I walked to the curb backward,
pointing my finger at the car and saying emphatically,
"Now you stay. Do you hear me?"

"Stay! Stay!"

The driver of a nearby car, a pretty blonde young lady,
gave me a strange look and said,

"Why don't you just put it in Park?"

The Coffee Shop / "WEATHER ALERT" ! ! !
« on: January 30, 2011, 11:32:57 am »
My Alderman is a meteorologist for the US National Weather Service and he rarely talks about the weather but last night he posted on FaceBook that we, in the St. Louis, MO area, are in for a very nasty winter storm that could be a BIGGIE!

Starting roughly Monday afternoon and looks like it will include: rain, freezing rain, sleet, ICE and snow.

No predictions of the accumulations but they are certain it will be a significant weather event.

Got my propane heater and stove, plenty of firewood and fully stocked freezer and pantry!

This just in.....

Direct quote from my weather guru..."Patrick Barclay.. Yikes! Not good when the weatherman compares this upcoming storm to the 2006 Big Ice Storm and 1982 Blizzard all in one. Early predictions are 1/2 inch of ice and then 8 inches of snow."

You may not hear from me after Monday for a while...

Stay Tuned!
