General Scroll Saw Talk / Killed another saw
« on: April 03, 2013, 09:26:30 pm »
Would you believe my new saw died.  New last November.  Took it in and they said it had a factory flaw in the wrapping in the motor, so it just died.  They took a brand new one off the shelf put my arm lift and light on it and sent me home no questions asked. Thanks Acme Electric.

The Coffee Shop / North Dakota Cold

It's winter in Wisconsin & Minnesota
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52 below!
Oh, how I love this state
When the snow's up to your butt;
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
You may think I'm a fool.
I could never leave this place ,
Cause I'm frozen to the stool.

The mailman delivered. THANK YOU AL!
The little boy has a 2012 penny set into the back. What a great surprise I got.
Not just one ornament but 3.
I confess I don't put up a tree anymore, so all my FORUM ORNAMENTS
stay up all year. They hang out with me in my shop/studio.

John went to the local bank to borrow money for a new bull. The loan was
made and Banker Bill, who lent the money, came by a week later to see how
the bull was doing. John complained that the bull just feasted on his best
pasture and wouldn't even look at a cow. The Banker suggested that he have
a veterinarian take a look at the bull.

Next week, the Banker returned to see if the vet had helped. John really
looked very pleased. "The bull has serviced all of my cows! He broke
through the fence and bred all my neighbor's cows! He's been breeding just
about everything in sight. He's like a machine!"

"Wow," said The Banker , "what did the vet do to that bull?"

"Just gave him some pills," replied John.

"What kind of pills?" asked The Banker.

"I don't know, but they taste like peppermint."

The Coffee Shop / snappy comeback
« on: November 13, 2012, 12:37:08 pm »
At our show, people who are admiring our work usually comment on the amount of patience it takes.
When a good friend of ours came along and made the usual patience remark,
My son (better known as SMART A**), replied, "Yes, yes it does and we use up all the patience we have creating these things so we could *SNAP* at any moment, but a sale usually calms us down"  ;D
