I've had a terrible 2 or 3 days. Firstly I had to drive my youngest daughter to Hospital on Thursday night because her husband and hospitals just don't mix. Left there at 2.00am in the morning, had to leave my daughter there. My husband collected the grandchildren at 6.30 the next day so that I could look after them because they had a day off school. I was busy running around getting something for one of them when I fell over a cord and hurt my hand. I decided that nothing was broken and even though it hurt quite a bit I carried on as usual. Took the kids to see their mum and had to leave her there another night. Got up yesterday and I had this big fat swollen hand that I can't do much with. Daughters out of hospital now and I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. I really hope I have not done to much damage and that it IS just swollen.

I hope so to Marg, but a fat swollen hand isn't a good indicator you may have broken one of those little bones. Be careful girl and I hope your daughter is doing well and getting back on her own feet.

So sorry to read this today, Marg! I hope things start looking up soon. Just try to take is as slow as you can and don't overwhelm yourself. Please keep us posted. My best to you and your family.

Sorry to hear you hurt your hand, Marg. Let us know what the doc says. Glad to hear your daughter is out of the hospital and doing better. Tell your son-in-law from me to take a big boy pill. Grown ups sometimes have to do things they don't want to.
-
Best of Luck to ya girl. Hope the hand incident is nothing serious.
-
I am so sorry, I hope that things imporve for you soon! Good luck at the doctors.

Oh Marg, I so sorry. When it rains it pours. Happy to hear your daughter is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery. Give SIL a boot in the shorts and tell him to get over the Hospital averstion. Have you tried soaking your hand in a bucket of water and ice? It should help take some of the swelling down till you see the doctor.
God Bless, Chels

Sorry for your troubles. Guess they keep us humble enough to appreciate the good times.
Keep us posted on the hand. Cold water and deep breaths. Glad your daughter is better.
Remind that SIL "for better or worse"

When problems arise time seems to slow down, but this too will pass and things will get right again for you. Hang in there and know there are a lot of us out here who really do care for you.

Thank you sooooooooo much guys, I really do appreciate the good wishes. Now for the update. Sara my daughter as to go back to hospital in 2 weeks time to get a camera put down her throat to hopefully find out the problem. At the moment she is doing fairly well. And yes I agree with most of you about my SIL. But believe me when I say that sometimes its best when he is not around. Enough said about that.
I went to the doctors today and he thinks my wrist 'may' be fractured in which case I will be in plaster for 3 months, which is NOT good when I am going overseas at the beginning of June. I will get the results either tomorrow or Thursday. Wednesday is a public holiday here for ANZAC day. So I just have to be patient until I find out, untill then I can type with one finger on my right hand and normally with my left. YEAH.
(((((HUGS))))) to everyone.

Forgot to mention that ANZAC day is the day day we remember all of our soldiers that did not come home from the first world war. It stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Lest we forget.

Marg I am hoping it isn't fractured. Lets hope its a strain... Your in my thoughts... Sheila

Got my finger crossed for you and your hand needing maybe only a wrap for a short time. Keep us posted.

I hope it will turn out right for you.
good luck for you daughter as well!

#*^# #*%# It is broken in 2 places. One in the wrist and one down the side of my hand. I have to see a specialist on Friday so until then I am in a 1/2 cast.
The only good news is that the brakes are clean and not displaced. Of course it is my right hand and I'm right handed. Pity I gave up drinking I could do with one right now. LOL

Well girl whine moan and whimper a lot so they will wait on you hand and foot just to shut you up. :o ;D
I'm really sorry it's broken, talk to the DR they have strap on type casts nowadays lighter and cooler than plaster, probably more comfortable too. Won't hurt to ask!
Get Well soon.

I'm so sorry Marg. Im so glad you went and got it checked, and you didnt end up like me, I was tryin to break loose a 2 inch bolt at work a few years back and with one hand on the wrench and took a baby sledge hammer with the other and smacked down on it, but the bad thing, I missed licked and hit my left pinky. I didnt think it was broken so I let it go for a couple of weeks and the swelling would never go down, so I finally went to the Dr's, and yes, it was broken, and started to heal back.So long story short, they had to do surgery and re break it and pin it together. If I went that day it would have save me alot of time off from work, and the insurance cost. It's my $9000.00+ pinky . I hope you get well soon and glad you wasnt hard headed like alot of us men and think it wasnt nothing. : )
Prayin for you and your Daughter... Get well soon!!!
-
Sorry to hear it's broken Marg, I can't help much from over here, but I'm sending you big (((((HUGS ))))) to make you feel little better. take care and look after the hand.
-
Well POOP! But just baby yourself while it heals. You deserve it. :D
I have the outside bone in my hand broke because I was too lazy to go get a hammer. It only hurts when I bump it.
-
Well Marge the diagnosis is in and it ain't pretty!
Now what do you do about it?
Just like all the Aussies before you just suck it up and make do, Right?
Seriously dalrin' it could have been much worse and you would have had longer rehab.
I know your strong constitution and Sense of Humor will prevail.
Sure would be nice if we could sluff-off our relatives as we do so often with other folks but we gotta live with 'em!
Hope you can get the SIL straightened out and make him sit up and take notice that he is a member of a family 'for better or worse'!
If not, send him over here and I will straighten his A$$ out real quick!
HUGZZZZZZZZZZZZ to you and I hope it all goes as well as you can handle!

Hi Marg, very, very sorry to hear of your predicament. As they say in Aussieland, she'll be right, (in your case), eventually. Thank goodness you got it checked out or it could have been more serious. Turn on the waterworks and they will all be running after you. Hope your daughter is coming on OK. Keep your chin up Marg.
