Title: different fonts
Post by: jeff44 on April 21, 2012, 01:38:05 pm
Is there a pattern program that has different font styles and sizes?  What I am looking for is one that I can do different desk sets with different styles of lettering for different customers.  I also don't want to break the bank getting the program.

Jeff, if you follow Steve's tutorials on using Corel Draw, you can create your own pattern using whatever font you decide will work best for you.  Corel Draw isn't very expensive, however if you don't want to spend the money, Inkscape is extremely capable as well, and it's free.  I use inkscape frequently, and I can do pretty much everything Steve demonstrates on Corel Draw.  The commands and menus are different, but ultimately they're doing the same thing.  Just give it a try, you might be surprised what you can do!

Hi Jeff,

there are a lot of posts on fonts.
most fonts come from Dafont, just type "font" or "dafont" in the search field up right and you find many post on this subject with also many fonts others use.
so If Corel doesn't have the font you like, just find extra fonts and install them.

Thanks Marcel.  I tried Inkscape but My computer had a problem and when I fixed it I have to reinstall a lot of my programs.  My wife does some work from home under a very secure network and it gets stange about some programs or sites.  I some times think it is to messy to work with and just get an air card for my computer.

hmmm.

I use simple Open Office for word art - the Draw is perfect.
Mrs.N had a tutorial for that, it's the pretty simplest to use program for doing that.
