Title: Lee Valley newest product
Post by: jscott2 on April 01, 2012, 05:51:06 pm
Check it out, it's http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=69302&cat=1,42401 (http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=69302&cat=1,42401) really neat!!  Everyone using a plane should have at least one, and I am sure it could be adapted to other devices in the shop - for example, chisels or perhaps even saws or sanding mops.

One of the pleasures of using a hand plane is the shavings silently spewing out of the top of the plane. Nothing more that a quiet "Swoosh". Grabbing the plane with your hand and applying it to your board in an instant. With that contraption, you have to stop and set it up, then bear the noise of your shop vac! No thanks!

Hi Jscott2, I'm inclined to agree with Dan. Nothing nicer than sweeping up all those lovely smelling shavings. LOL

I'm on Dan's side too!  Plus, I use all my shavings (pine anyway) on the floor of my chicken coop!
