Title: Workin with a new blade.

Ok folks,,you all might say I'm goin off the deep end, but I been finding out more and more as soon as I get a new blade in I have less control till it runs in and seems like everything settles in after a few cuts and can run it till it finally craps out.... Maybe a newbie thing going on ....

The new blade is a bit too aggressive for you, right now.  Look for a less aggressive saw blade, to use, until you have some more experience. Then you could go back to using those more aggressive blades.

Three basics;
Have good tension, the blade should not move side ways more than 1/8". have good speed and low feed rate. If not enough speed, you have a tendency to start pushing too hard into the blade. Let the blade do the cutting, they say.
Most blades have a burr on the right side what makes them cut to the right. You have to move the wood some degree  to the right to stay on the line.
The UR series cuts more straight.

Sometimes slowing down the saw on the first few cuts with a new blade will let you get some control back.

Howdy Parner....  Blades have different degrees of cutting.  When I started it was good ole Lowes specials.  Now Flying Dutchman is the blade of choice.
Like Mike said the FD-UR blades are my blade of choice. 

If you install a new blade....Tension it correctly....  Set speed according to you feelings....guide the wood into the blade with little force....A new blade will last many cuts and will follow the line good.....Blade starts to dull and it will not follow the line good....change blade.  End....  Danny  :+}

I always have some used blades in my assortment. So I can decide whether I'm going to use a new, more aggressive one or a used, better behaving one.

Used blades you'll get when you cut small projects or change blades sizes in bigger projects. Those blades have still to be good, if it developed some coloring I'll throw it away.
