Title: Imagine my joy...
Post by: thawkins57 on February 27, 2012, 08:36:30 am
when I went to Harbor Freight yesterday to buy their 4" belt/6" disc sander for $99.95, and when I got to the checkout, it rang up on sale for $69.95!  Woo Hoo!  I was willing to pay the $100 for it; $70 made it even sweeter!

nice. Was that a typo or an actual price?

All the little price tags said $99.95, and I looked through the ads I get via e-mail before I went, and it didn't say anything about a sale... but when I said something at the check out about it being on sale, the cashier just looked at me and said "uh huh," so I don't know if it was really on sale or rang up wrong... anyway, good for me... LOL

;) ;) ;) I love it when that happens! Another happy Harbor Freight customer. You'll really like the sander. Have mine about 4 months now. Did you pickup the sanding belt cleaner.... works like a charm. Now you can really make saw dust.

I didn't get the cleaner, but I'm planning to.  I want it mainly for the disc - the belt is just icing on the cake...

Get rid of the belt and disk that came with it and get yourself some good ones!

HF sanding belts leave a lot to be desired...

Yep.   Bought one of the combo sanders, took a couple of weeks to wear out the belt and couple days to wear out the disc, then bought some high quality ones - much better, and I really agree with the sanding blocks to clean the belt and disc - they work great and really extend the life of the equipment.      Enjoy the sawdust.
