Title: Which Hard Wood??
Post by: Graywolf on February 25, 2012, 03:10:49 pm
I am getting ready to buy some Hard Wood. I have been using material i have around the shop. I bought a sheet of 1/2" BB at Home Depot and like it very much. I have bought clock inserts at Sloan's and looked at their wood. I just can't make up my mind what to order???? I look at one and think "OH, Wow I sure like that." Then look at another piece and say OH, Yeah Gotta have some of that. I make different kinds of projects, like every one else.
OH, the angony of slection :'( :-\ :-\
I guess I am going to have to write down wood names; put them in a hat and start drawing names :P

Well, it all depends on the project. I like to use all kinds of hardwoods. My favorites are Mahogany, Walnut, Cherry, Maple, Red Oak, Sapele and even Spanish Ceder. What I would do is buy several different kinds of boards, then decide which wood looks best for the project at hand.
