Title: Wedding
Post by: blue11811 on February 19, 2012, 02:25:44 pm
Hi Everyone,
My daughter is getting married and would like to make something special for her as a keepsake and also to welcome people to the wedding. I don't know what I want just looking for ideas. I have over a year to get something, but thought I would post and see what other people have made. I will be checking this post and if you have any ideas or patterns wedding related please post. I want to thank you all up front.

Thanks Again
John

How about making a card box? I got married 4 years ago and those things are way over priced. Maybe something with bride and grooms names and date; fretwork with bells or wine glasses or anything wedding themed. Or for a gift a welcome sign including the brides new last name? Women spend a lot of time planning their wedding day so you might want to get approval on anything used for the big day. If not you may get your invite revoked!!!

As I recall, Steve Good cut out a bunch of key chain names and provided them to the guests (?).

Look in Steve's online collections of patterns, seems there are a few related to your question.

Whatever, get the brides permission FIRST.

Enjoy the project, whatever you decide to do.

How about a wedding album cover or a special picture frame?

How about a box big enough to hold all the wedding memories including the album and inlay the top

A nice portrait of the happy couple to decorate the sign-in table might be nice.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to thank you all for your ideas. I am checking out the different patterns now I have to decide what I want to do. I am favoring the pattern from Sue May with the hearts and roses with names and date. Looks like it would be a nice keepsake. Any more thoughts feel free to post them may give other mothers and fathers ideas.

Thanks Again,
John
