I had another phone call from Axminster power tools, they think they have found the vibration problem with the EX saws over here, they have now got one set up on a bench running at max speed with a glass of water sitting on its table, with just a few slight rings forming on top of the water. they are having mine back this wednesday to completely check it out and set it up this should cure all my vibration probs.(I hope lol) But it was nice to get a call from them to say they were going to fix it and not me having to phone them to ask when they were going to fix it. Good service from Axminster once again, I can't fault the customer service there.

Think you could get the deep info on what was wrong and how to make adjustments to fix it and share it with us? My Ex-16 only vibrates at top speed, but it would be nice to get it smooth running wide open.

I have already thought of that, I'm going to take it there myself, they said it was ok to watch and I can get a copy of the setup procedure. They are even going to give me a free dinner too. I'm trying to get Darren Windsor ,the chap I'm dealing with to come in the forum as he is learning to scroll, and he is using all the machines that Axminster supply, he needs to learn everything he can about the saws so he can give advice on them (nice job if I could get it - paid to scroll mmmmmmm my kinda job) and mine is same as yours only vibrates at top speed range.

That's great news. The more I hear about Axminster the more I like them. It looks as though they really care about their customers and it is good to hear that they will be taking care of you so well. :)

I think the problem with a lot of the franchise dealers they know nothing about scroll-sawing and probably not much about woodcraft and this is their problem near enough is close enough, and it would be great if this chap from Axminster joined the forum and would answer some of the questions we all need to know about our saws

Hey Jimbo, You are right about that. Their are very few people that know everything about every tool. At the Woodcraft store I teach at, they will call me if a customer has a question about scroll saws and scroll sawing. I don't mind if they call me as it provides advertising for my classes.

Well, back from Axminster Power Tools, they have done the adjustments and it made little difference, so they took new one out of warehouse and adjusted that and gave it to me as a replacement. So I have yet another new saw, just hope this one lasts longer . (i'm wondering if I should have ordered one fron Seyco and got it shipped here with a transformer for the difference in voltage, it would have probably been cheaper too lol) but still no complaints about Axminster's customer service/backup, that remains excellent.

Hi Keefie, How is the new saw running at top speed ?? As mine is in for adjustment just now ! keeping my fingers crossed :) i dont need a new saw just one running smoothly above half speed !
And i have to agree on axminster's customer service , excellent...Pete

new saw is running fine, at top speed there is just a slight vibration, but that could be my bench rather than the machine as at Axminster it was running at full speed with no vibration. The only problem now is when i started cutting with it I noticed at the start of a cut there is a slight side to side movement in the blade which makes it awkward to start a cut in the right place if doing small fine cuts. I checked the table was level and the blade was vertical, but when it's running you can see a side to side movement, not much only approx 1/16" max but enough to be awkward. I'll check with Axminster tomorrow to see if they know if it can be adjusted.
