Title: going nuts
Post by: Gabby on January 17, 2012, 10:20:33 pm
Y'all got to bear with me I'm suffering sort of like Grampa was a while back. No cutting till it gets warm and I'm in withdrawals.
Can't get my fix, at least 3 more months till I can even think about setting up again!
So you guys and gals have to put up with my nuttyness till then.
Arghhhhh

I'd send you some warm if I could Gabby.  In the 70's here today.  I complain when it gets so hot I have to turn on the A\C in my shop.

Marg I always wanted to come to Oz, bet never could, now the trip would probably kill me. Wanted to see all of the 50 states too and put a good dent in that goal, but didn't get to all of them either.  :(

We have been getting a lot of rain, steady for the past 24 hours. All the creeks are running bank to bank and the rivers are creeping up on near flood stage with no end in sight. I heard on the radio the mountains will be getting snow tonight. That's good for the water table, I was getting worried after it had been dry for so long, this is more like natural weather for here. More reason for me to be wierd. LOL

Hey Pard...my S.O.'s daughter live in Seattle!

Can't get to work...snowed in!
Spent the last 72 hours with a 3 1/2 year old!!!
Now that leads to 'stir crazy'!

That's no joke!
As I understand it suicide is a real problem in that area.

Well Gabby, with the rain and snow in the mountains it has saved some of the forests around us.  Like you said the creeks and rivers are coming up fast.  All this after the driest December in History.  But the temperature all the way up to 47 today.  Cut out 27 more birdhouses today.  And only had on three layers of clothes.  It will come!!!  :)

Thankfully no, we did get some wind but nothing like that, you folks farther North have gotten the brunt of the bad weather. Both forks of the Illinois River ar very close to the highest I've seen in my nearly 14 years here.
The rain has eased up from the steady rains of the previous 36 hours.

Chuck it sounds like you need to invest in a heater. Three layers and I wouldn't be able to move. LOL

Gabby and Chuck,

Glad to see some snow is falling. I wouldn't want to have to meet you guys this summer due to an evacuation. I've spent a good bit of my years in the mountains and grasslands of Oregon. More in So. Cal. But I prefer the Six Rivers and Siskiyou areas.

Hi Gabby, Pay Back time for all the rain and wind you sent across the POND to us over here the last couple of months lol. Only pulling legs. Hope it does not get too bad. That goes for Chuck too since he is in your vicinity.
Rob Roy.

I plead not guilty your honor, there is no way I have the power to send that terrible weather to you. If I did, there are many places I would send it to, rather than bonny Scotland!

JH I can see the Sis Q's from my front door, I'm about 15 miles from the CA border.
This afternoon returning home from the old folks club. None of them were in view, the clouds had lowered to about 100 feet above the valley floor and it was pouring, supposed to let up a bit tomorrow.

That is nice country. I used to be based out of Redding and in Merrill.

It's pretty hard to beat actually!
If I had an enclosed work space with power,
I'd be making dust, instead of getting cabin fever.

You mean you not made it there yet.
I didn't think you had that far to go.
Up here in Central coast we have had our fun with the rain & road wash outs.
They started the repair on 101 south just out of Newport yesterday.
Keep dry
