Title: Hello from Woodenclocks
Post by: Woodenclocks on January 17, 2012, 11:11:03 am
I design wooden clocks and have done for a number of years.
I started back in the early 1980's when I designed a clock for Burgess Power tools and then carried on working on my own designs from home.
I built my earlier clocks using a band-saw and a lathe, really hard work to achieve the consistency on the gears to get them to run, but really rewarding
Some of the design's are free but the later ones cost a few dollars because people mainly want the DFX files so they can machine them on CNC router.
Its so nice to find a forum dedicated to the hand making of intracate objects in wood, harder to do but much more satisfying.
Any one want the free patterns for the first four clocks please go to the website at www.woodenclocks.co.uk  (http://www.woodenclocks.co.uk) and download the PDF files

Hello Brian and welcome aboard.
Having been interested in firearms for years I'd like to know. Do you know of any other designs / designers beyond Da Vinci that can be viewed on the internet. The older the better, due to the trial and error that led to advancements over the centuries. The volley gun is interesting, and the one found with burst breeches most likely caused the gun crew great consternation to say the least.

Hi Brian,
I'm Jeremy from Pennsylvania. Glad you found our forum. I've always wanted to try building wooden clocks but I can see that it may be a little frustrating if things don't mesh well.
