I needed a Christmas ornament that was a little bit different, so I turned on my scroll saw and came up with this little project to create a Scrooge type top hat. This led to the possibility of the hat becoming decorations for other holidays or parties. I thought some of you might be interested so I developed a tutorial which shows my process step by step. You can check out this tutorial for free on my web page by clicking on the following link. The tutorial is at the bottom of the page, or you can click the tutorial listed in the index at the top of the page. Hope you enjoy the project.

Glad to see lathe people like the project, but this is for those of us who don't have a lathe.

Hi Al:
Nice little project for us latheless folk.
I had to laugh when I saw that you were using the top from a pill bottle as your template.
What are the chances of anyone not having a pill bottle around the house.
Thanks for sharing
Nice site you have too

Yes, Fab4, I guess pill bottles are one of the perks of the geriatric set. We have enough of them.
