Title: up date on Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Post by: rob roy on December 12, 2011, 02:02:18 pm
Hi folks, an update on our peculiar weather, not only have we to get the high winds again, here in the West of Scotland. On Thursday/Friday the weather men have announced we've now to get THUNDER SNOW. Thunder and lightning with snow sounds very interesting, but apparently it's very dangerous. Big Pete, I hope you've been reading the newspapers up there in Largs, I'm down here in Kilmarnock hoping the weather men have got it wrong.
Well Gabby, at least Big Pete backs me up LOL.

Wow. That does sound wild. Hope everyone stays safe. The weather here in West Virginia has been interesting as well. Last night our temps got down to 13 degrees. Today it is supposed to be in the 60s. Guess my sinuses will start killing me around noon LOL.

Hi Daliclimb, Thunder snow and I won't mix either. I detest ORDINARY snow.I drive A Shogun 4x4 and I still don't like snow. Give me nice thick MUD any time, lol. Did you know that water is one of the few liquids that freezes slippery side up. At least it does in Scotland,LOL. Old age and snow don't mix very well either!!!

Well Roy we had a touch of that "Thunder / Snow" back in '83 and St. Louis got 23" of snow in 12 hours and high winds.  I lived on a corner and there was a Ford Escort parked along side my house and the snow started about 9:30 after heavy rain. By midnight you could not see the Escort from the drift that built up alongside my house.

I will pray that you do NOT receive anything like that....St. Louis was totally paralyzed for three days.

At 8:00 I was grilling steaks on my front porch and at midnight there was 12: of snow where I had been sitting.

Best of Luck to you!

Hi Graybeard, thank you very much, you've just scared the living daylights out of me. I hope your prayers will be answered. We are having a hail storm as I write. This could be the start of something not so nice.
May I take this opportunity to wish you and your family A Very happy Christmas.
Rob Roy.
