i was watching one of your videos and i wanted to ask about a couple items you have
near your saw, one was a little yellow motor with a sanding drum on the right side and
a sanding mop on the left. it looked like a nice little compact unit and i was curious who
makes it or where to get it?
the other item was a calculator looking thing on your light that must be used for a time
clock for how much time you have on a project i would guess? where did you get that and
what exactly is it called?
thanks for any help you can give!

Maybe I can already give some tips:
the "calculator" is a stop watch. Steve recently has started to have an eye on the time he spends making his wood work. Good Idea, got me thinking about the time I spend on the things too. It helps setting a valuable time.
The sanding device - it's yellow, so I assume it's a DeWalt tool. Those sanders come most times with sanding stones:
DeWalt DW 758 @ amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DW758-8-Inch-Bench-Grinder/dp/B0000224J4/ref=sr_1_24?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1322773495&sr=1-24)

The sanding devise is a guinivere sanding system.

ah - ok, learned some to. Thanks Julie!

Yup, he did a review of it a while back: http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2009/04/guinevere-flexible-finishing-system.html
Scroll down to "Daily post starts here".

thanks for the link dan.
kinda spendy but might have to start buying the different parts
little by little. anyone have any info on the portable time clock thingy?
-
I'm sure you can find this type of thing just about anywhere: http://www.amazon.com/Presto-04213-Electronic-Digital-Timer/dp/B001CQG618
Look in the kitchen department at Walmart or Target.

You don't need a stop watch there.
I'm always listening to the radio in my shop and I have a small clock on a shelve. I use to check the clock from time to time and have a feeling for how long I'm working on an item.
Also do you need to consider the additional time - it's not just the cutting. You prepare and you finish the parts. That time needs to be measured too.

I got mine at Radio Shack.

i put this on the back burner for a while but im still looking for a cheap
count up timer (time clock) like the one steve uses. i was hoping he
would post what he uses or if someone else knows exactly or has one
that works.
i dont want an electronic timer, they just countdown from like 99 minutes.
i want a timer that counts up, can be stopped and started again to continue
adding minutes.
thanks

If you are using a "Foot Switch" you can out an analog clock in the saw circuit so it only runs when you step on the foot switch!

That is a good idea GB. I have an old analog sitting on the shelf that just may end up wired in.
