I just brought the new BABY home.
I paid $789.66 which includes, tax, stand and foot switch.
I have 30 days to return it if I don't like it.
Now I just need to get used to it instead of the DeWalt 788.

Hey Judy, Didn't you know that you can't use spirals with the EX21?!!!
Just kidding! Congratulations! Tell us how you like it when you get used to it.

Fantastic!!!

Judy what happened to your Dewalt?
-
There is nothing wrong with my DeWalt. Just a crazy old lady who wanted a new toy. the last two shows more than paid for it, so I said "What the heck"?? Now I will try the new one out and decide which one I like the best.

Congrat's Judy, I'm still trying to get used to my EX21 so I'm swapping between the DeWalt and the EX 21 great fun.

Just got my EX16 home last night, been setting it up today, it's like a Rolls Royce compared to my old one, just need to sort out the blade now as it's got far too much forward to back travel, but when thats sorted there will be no stopping me.
-
Congratulations to you! Keep us posted and let us know how you are doing! :) You are going to have a BLAST with that saw!!! :D

Can you tell us where you got it as I'm on the verge of ordering one. That is a good price, the one I am looking at is $919.99 with stand and light.
-
I got mine from Axminster power tools in Devon U.K., but it came without stand and light. I also not sure if they deliver overseas or not. I fiddled with it today trying to get the front to rear blade travel to a minimum, got it down a lot but can't get rid of it yet. I made a Heart box today to test it, with my old saw it took 2 1/2 days to cut out but with this one it only took about 6 hours, shows how much time the blade changing was taking. have attatched a pic of box for you to see.

I got it from a place called Acme Electric in Fargo, North Dakota. By now you probably know I took it back and bought a Delta.
-
Good job of cutting you need to put it in the Gallery!

Do you like the Delta better than the EX21?, what model Delta did you get?

Keefie, nice buy. You can adjust the front to back movement by turning the motor. Just check Steve's videos, he explains it quite well.
-
Thanks Torsten, I checked the video's out and did that, it cut it down by half, but going any further turning the motor and it starts to increase it again, so I got to find the happy medium. The only time i notice any trouble with it is doing a tight turn, then it will bounce if you dont hold the work very firmly. With a little time and trial and error I'm sure I'll sort it, either way it's a fantastic machine to use, it's quiet and vibration free except on full speed but thats my worktop vibrating (I dont have room for a seperate stand for it) so far I have only needed to use it on about 3/4 speed as it cuts fine at that speed. I'll let you know when I sort the blade movement problem.

My Delta Model is 40-690.
I found the Ex-21 I tried very difficult to load the blade into the bottom. Lifting the arm did not bring the bottom clamp up like it does in the DeWalt and Delta. I have a bad right hand so need to feed the blade down from the top, peek through the hole and use a special tool I built to tighten the thumb screw.

Keefie, add weight to the stand. That helps against vibration. The weight should be as near to the saw as possible. I have like 75kg of pave stones in my stand (~160lbs).
