Title: Big order
Post by: cdrover(Clyde) on November 18, 2011, 07:03:30 pm
Just when you wanted something to do :D. Good news is last year I cut key chains for the principal and vice-principal of my school as year end gifts.  Well the free-bee paid off, They want key chains for all staff members for Christmas. (54). Bad news is I am cutting just the initials so there are no duplicates and I will be cutting from purpleheart. Better go and get the stove going.  ;D

Congrats.  There is no better advertisement then word of mouth, and little free-be here and there.

Hey Clyde, Make sure you use clear packing tape on both sides of your purpleheart blanks to help with burning! Good luck and show us a pic of all of them!

Congrats.

You say you cutting initials only??  2 letters only ie DM for Don McFarland or D McFarland

I like the idea for my grandkids teachers.  I already cut name plates and something else would like this would work great.

I like doing the initials as they are even more personal than the name. I have cut a lot of keychains using the initials only I try to include any middle initials where I can. It is like a personal call number. ;D

Way to go, Clyde!

Out of 54, there's no one with the same initials?  Bummer.

Good order!  Love that purpleheart, I have a plank in my rafters about 14 inches wide.

I wish I had that plank. You should have insurance on it. Around here I am payiny 7.99 for 1X6X 12in long.

Sounds pretty high.  I also have a couple of purpleheart planks 2x6X48.  Not sure what I;ll use them for but one day the right project will come up.

Congrats.  It never hurts to advertise, does it?  I know, because I did something similar about 20 years ago.
When my kids were much younger and in public school, I made a sign with their teacher's name on it, as a Christmas or year end gift.  Then many other parents asked me to make one for their child.
On and on it went..... I still make them for people where I work as a thank-you for something they have done.  Then everyone in the office wants one  :-)).
Have fun.
Jim
