Title: Some New Ornaments I designed
Post by: scrollgirl on November 13, 2011, 03:55:51 pm
Hi, everyone.

I just finished designing these new ornaments and I am really proud of them.  They are little self-framing designs and can be made as ornaments or plaques.  I made two sets of each design.  One set is made of Maple and finished with mineral oil and spray shellac and the other set is made of Baltic birch plywood and I used acrylic paint on the frames.  I sponged the paint on with a small sea sponge and then when it was dry, I added a light layer of Gold Metallic sponged on in the same manner.  They were fast and easy to do that way and I didn't even need a paintbrush.

I hope you all like them!  Thanks for looking.

Sheila :)

Thank you all for your kind remarks.  I really loved how these turned out too. I wasn't sure when they were on the drawing board.  They have been one of my favorite projects that I have done.  I am so happy you like them.

MsN - If you aren't on the mailing list for my site, you should consider it.  I sent out a special offer in a newsletter today and you get a discount on these ornaments.  I like doing extra things for the mailing list people.  I only send out one or two a month and I try not to bug  people too much.  But I just let them know what is new.

Thanks again everyone.  You all make my life so much FUN! :)

Sheila

I really want to thank all of you for the great comments.  Many times I feel timid about posting my stuff in here because I don't want you all to think I am just 'selling' my stuff here.  But I really liked these and was proud of them and wanted to share them with you guys.  I really like this forum and the people in it.  It's a great group and I appreciate being a part of it.

Thanks again for the nice feedback!   Sheila :)

I ordered my sets yesterday and I can't wait for them to arrive so I can cut them for my family. I forgot to add the free pattern offer for my purchase of $20.00, Sheila was kind enough to send me an e-mail telling me of the oversight. I want to commend her on her honesty and professionalism. Thank you Sheila.

I'm kind of new here, Sheila, so speaking strictly for myself, I'm glad you do post your stuff here.  Otherwise I may never have heard of your site.  Folks like me, who are more suited to the execution, as opposed to the design, depend on creative people like you to provide us with great patterns.  Even better that you have the skill and talent to cut your own designs and show us what the finished piece looks like.

Kudos to you and thanks for doing what you do to support this hobby!
