Title: Blades for cutting laminate floor boards?
Post by: Dawie on November 07, 2011, 12:14:42 pm
 ??? Hi all out there,
I have a load of laminate flooring, I like the way it cuts, but my blades get blunt rather fast, because it is so hard. At present I use the FD-P blades #2 and#3. I do most cutting with these blades and love them. Any suggestions?
David

Hey David, Try using a size larger blade. Or try the FD Ultra Reverse blades. I find the UR blades are sharper and last a lot longer than other blades.

I would use a #5 atleast, but it's pretty hard stuff so I dont think you will get too much life out of any blade

IF it is truly 'laminate' what you are encountering is more likely the adhesive that is heating and dulling the blades. Slower speed and a larger blade should prevent most of this.

I have cut laminate floor once or twice and found it's not worth wasting my blades on.
