OK ad said two scroll saw cheap. We ahve all seen them before and included a picture of a nice looking Orange saw. Called the guy and got the story "dad passed away a while back we have sold the house and these things have to go by tomorrow." Went today and looked and plugged it in ran very nice, very smooth, quiet, had adapaters in place for pinless blades. Guy said dad loved to wood work won some trophys with his scroll saw stuff (showed me pictures). I said how much, he said how about $50, I said sure why not lets load it in the explorer.
Loaded it up and he told me come back in some other stuff goes with it, large box of patterns and books. Right beside the books is a brand new looking Ryobi 10" planer mounted on a stand, so How much? He said has to go make me an offer, I said $20 and we loaded it in the car.
So now I have a "Sakura "Scrollmate" Model SKS-21 21" Five-Speed Scrollsaw complete with a stand" and a Ryobi planer for $70, time will tell but seems like a good deal.
The reason for this long obnoxious post, does anyone know anything about this scroll saw?
Searching the net and found that people say the modern itineration of this machine is P S Wood Machines # 388 - sell for $799
Hope they are right, might have scored a pretty nice Craigslist find!

Peter, Sounds like an excellent deal! The saw you have is the same saw PS Wood Machines now sells. Selling new, they are over priced, but for $50 it's a steal! I have no idea about the planer, but again for $20 bucks you can't go wrong!
Congratulations!

I have a good friend that has this model and loves it. I've seen the saw demonstrated at woodworking shows by PS Woods and was impressed.
I think you made a good deal.

sounds like a great deal on the planer too. Get the blades sharpened or replace them so you know you are starting fresh and you should find it very useful. Just remember to take SMALL amounts off at a pass.
