How often do you clean your scroll saw table? Cleaned mine today for the first time in ages and boy did I notice a difference.

Pretty easy to determine when to clean. Just run your finger tips over it if you feel any roughness or drag, it's time. After some cutting I noticed some of the adhesive from the tape smeared on the table. I keep a piece of steel wool just for quick cleanup, took the sticky stuff right off. Be sure to seal it against rust. I won't get into that because I'm a maverick and don't follow the rules. LOL

Gabby I had you pegged as more of an "outlaw" than a "maverick".

I clean my saw every evening - first the saw, than me ;)

I clean it only when it needs it. Right now I am doing compound cutting on some miniature bird houses. This is producing a ton of saw dust! having to dust it off every 1/2 hour or so, but usually clean it ever couple of days. I will wax the table about once a month.

Some of my INLAWS might agree with you. ;D

i have put a dust extraction system on my saw so dust is not much of a problem also the top has been anodized so there is plenty of slip

Since I wear contact lenses much of the time, and was having problems with the dust collecting on them. OUCH!
I set a 10" fan to blow from right to left across the saw and away from the table. Since then I have very little acumulation of dust on the saw or bench, and very little in my eyes.
Happy camper,
Gabby
Did I mention it's a bit cooler too. ;D
The site seems to be slowing down again.

A little "Johnson's" Paste Wax works wonders too!

I clean mine about once or twice a month. It depend on how much I cut. :)
