Title: Scrollsaw Blower Dust
Post by: bhenr99 on July 10, 2011, 03:46:54 pm
How does anyone collect the sawdust that the blower blows away from blade? I'm finding to much airborne dust from the blower by the blade. Thanks for any ideas.

Bob

vaccum - in breaks and after the cutting. You might lower the strength of the blower a bit to not blow the dust all around. You just need to see the cut.

I vacuum between.  Unfortunately there is no way to avoid airborn sawdust.  You can put in an air filtration system and vacuum system but it still gets out there.  Many people take a box fan and put a regular air conditioner filter on it and place it where the dust is blowing into it.  I tried that but didn't like the fan and noise right there beside where I work.  Also, it was between my scrollsaw and my drill press which was inconvenient for me.
