Hey Bill, that came out really nice. I know you where afraid there would not be enough contrast in the two woods, But I think it came out great!
How did you finish it ?

That looks exactly like the ones I made for Christmas gifts for my son and SIL a few years ago.
You did a very good job on it. Thanks for showing it to us.

Not to steal Bill's thunder, it's a great job.
He sent it to me full size and I slobbered all over it.  ;D

Someone asked where he got the pattern.
Steve Good has a nice pattern too and it's free.
Here:    http://stevedgo.ipower.com/cat/?page_id=114
It wouldn't be too big a deal to make the pieces 4 sided I don't believe.
(Notice I didn't say think, we all know I can't do that.)
Hey Bill when are you going to learn how to saw? Pretty good for a beginner.
Some day I just might get that good! LOL

Now that you mention it, Marcel, I've been meaning to bring that up.  I take my time with stuff, and this set was about 40-45 hours.

How long does it take you others who've done this?

Bill

P.S.  And thank you all, once again, for the kind words.
