Title: Mother's Day gift
Post by: dgman on May 08, 2011, 02:56:04 pm
This is my Mother's Day Gift for my wife who is a Quilter. Done with 1/8" Baltic birch plywood and 1/8" oak plywood backer stained red mahogany. I used Flying Dutchman UR1 and UR3 blades.
The frame is made from antique Chestnut.
Pattern by our own Grampa.

Dan, this is a very nice present indeed. I've said it before and it's worth repeating. You guys on the west coast have an over abundance of talent.

I like the cutting and the thought behind it as well as the thought that you cut into it.
I just have one suggestion. Have you thought about using fabric as a backer? My thought was covering the backer board with a plaid cloth or maybe using some squares from on of her quilting jobs. It would just add something to the whole theme of the cutting.
