Title: thanks Steve for review on light
Post by: saw dust john on March 11, 2011, 08:48:16 pm
Steve did a review on a Wood River LED magnifier light.

While I wasn't in super need of it, the video of how he connected it was so well done and so easy, that I order it.  Installed it in a very short time.

Now to see how I like scrolling with a magnifier.
again thanks

Hey John...

I'm still on the fence on that particular light so I will be hounding you for your evaluation.

Currently I am using the head-band magnifier like the jewelers wear and I don't think I will like it in the summer with the sweat getting under the headband and collecting the dust!

I just cannot get used to seeing that clearly.  I think I need the lines to be a little murky....LOL

whoa, there is a small learner curve in looking through a magnifier light, at least with me there was.  the size of the light was fine.  I didn't use the light at all, pretty bright here in Tucson.  vibrated too much at high speed, but that is probably my mounting system of my saw--stand on 3/4 ply with wheels.
not sorry I brought it.

Here is a tip fr all who use the mag and light.  Wear a baseball cap, the kind with the brim in front.  While you are cutting, touch the brim against the lens of the mag.  It will bring you at just the right distance to be clear on the vision and it will stop the lens and light from moving around.  Done this for a long time and it works.
