Title: 2011 Woodcraft calendar
Post by: Bill P on February 25, 2011, 01:25:57 pm
Anyone have the Woodcraft calendar?  If so, what wood is used for the bowl in March's picture?  That's really pretty, and I'd like to get some.

Bill, who's at work, on a Friday, staring at the Woodcraft calendar and wishing he was in his shop!

I don't know about the bowl, but I was staring at my calendar moments ago. However, mine has shoes on it. Great, wonderful, expensive high heeled shoes.

I had to give up high heels.  They make my calves look fat.

Hey Katie, Do you wear these great, wonderful, expensive high heeled shoes when you are woodworking? I know Bill only wears them when he's going out on the town! ::)

Not any more, Dan.  The calf thing, y'know.  Now I stick with pumps.   ;D

BTW, I still want to know what kind of wood that is.

I called Woodcraft and the lady said to look on the back of the calendar.  Almost every month had a description...except March.  If anyone has that calendar, you'll see why I'd like to know what wood it is.  It's beautiful.  It's a pale wood with red in it.

I Google-imaged (is that even a word?) spalted Box Elder.  Close, but not quite.

I wish I would have brought the calendar home so I could have scanned the picture and shown everyone what I was talking about.

Oh well,

Bill

Bill,  FYI - heels NEVER make you calves look fat.  They make your legs look shapely.  That's why we wear them.

Okay back to the question! No I don't have the calender. I can't tell you what the wood is for March. January, February or any other month for that matter.
There we are back on topic!

So Russ are you going to answer Dan's question?!  ::)
