I have been lurking in the back ground, reading post but never commenting on them. I am fighting a bad case of depression and can't seem to get excited about much. So if you guys will bear with me for a while I hope to get back on track and post more--thanks in advance--Richard aka thumbs

Hi Thumbs. I get the same way some days. I just have to stop and tell myself to grab a piece of wood and cut it, and before you know it, I'm busy and my mind is back on track. It really does make me feel better
-
Richard,
No apologies necessary. Just hope you get things smoothed out. Spring is just around the corner.

Hi, Thumbs,
I think Crusty has a great piece of advice. Idle hands and all that.
Depression is a difficult montster to fight, but remember you have us to help. Email me privately if you'd like.
We're all in this together,

Hey Richard, just a quick note to wish you well. I have a brother that occasionally struggles with depression and I know how hard it can be to work up the energy to do what would normally seem like a simple thing. I hope you can regain your balance soon.
-
Hi Richard, no apologies necessary!!!!
you can't help it. just keep busy and stay in the rhythm: wake up early and go to bed on time.
walking helps, and how funny this may sound, singing helps to. (it clears your head.)
I've had it to, for me the scroll saw was a way to get back on track. (had to use medicine to for more then a year)
I know the feeling that you hang in the background (not just on this forum I guess)
no problems there. just read and try to enjoy.
you just made the first step and we're all here to support you!

Hang in there Richard! Hopefully things will be looking up soon!

Thanks everyone for all the great comments--I went to the doctor yesterday for other things and told him about my depression-- He thinks it's just a bad case of winter time blues, but we will keep track of it . Hr thinks once it gets warm and I can get out side Things will be better. He has had a lot of patients who have been down this winter with the blues. So I'm really ready for spring. thanks again ---Richard aka thumbs
