Or Earthquakes!

Dan, you're forgetting the New Madrid fault in southern Missouri. An series of strong quakes from it in 1811-1812 caused church bells to ring in Boston and sidewalks to crack in Washington DC. It even reversed the flow of the Mississippi River for a short time.
We don't get serious quakes often like you folks in California (thankfully) but we do have small ones now and then, usually with only minor damage.

lol, that is wonderful.
My dad used to have a saying during the summer when it would rain for a week at time "at least you don't have to shovel rain"

My seismologist friend at St. Louis Univ. says that when the New Madrid breaks loose it will cause the San Andreas to split so bad California will drift out into the Pacific never to be seen again.
And he freely admits he is only 'half' kidding!

My wife wonted to move out to California Years ago but I told her there is no way I am going to move some where I am going to need scuba gear to go to my house some day . I also told her that the ground should not shake under you feet like that . What you know that was on the mid 90's and we had a small quake that year in Western Pa .
