hi iam clive and new to scrolling i like metal detcting messing with wood due to disability ive had to stop driving hgvs and now with time on hands i am starting this very adicive hobby i had a scroll saw given to me and now cant stay away will be looking to buy a henger next but at the mo gunna play with this 1 wot a fantastic forum this is regs clive

Welcome Clive: I understand your problem, if I'm not in my shop working on a scroll saw project, I go nuts ! ! ! But my wife says I'm nuts anyway. LOL Get your things shown to the public, in no time at all people will be bringing wood to you and asking " Can you make something with this old wood". You've just made a friend and someone that will keep their eyes open, to get more wood for you. I will soon need to build a new shop, so I have room to make stuff. LOL When I see the twinkel in the eyes of people, after I give them something - it's all worth it.

Also a welcome from Germany.

For wood - check designholz.com (http://www.designholz.com), they are' sending the stuff everywhere. Fast and really good.

check ebay regularly, there is often a usefull wood sold.
Another good idea when looking for special types of wood is to look for wood that is use in building musical instruments. in Germany it is also called "music wood" - don't know if they call it similar in the UK.
