Title: Watco Danish Oil (Natural)....
Post by: GrayBeard on December 20, 2010, 08:45:07 pm
I have some that was given me by a neighbor that seems a bit 'thick'.

Can it be 'rejuvenated' with a little Mineral Spirits and used or should I just pitch it?

Well GB, I think you can thin it with mineral spirits, but I would try it out on a piece of scrap first. If it doesn't dry in three or four days then toss it.

Yes GB just add thinners untill you get the consistancey you need, I keep mine in a plastic bottle and squeeze the air out before I put the lid on, keeps a lot longer

A little Mineral Spirits should work fine. Like Dan said, try it out on a piece of scrap to make sure.  8)

I use it straight out of the can. It dries pretty quick. I can usually clear coat it in a day or so. I have had a hard time finding the natural at Home Depot's in my area. They don't seem to stock it on a regular basis.
