Title: Blower won't blow

The blower on my DeWalt 788 seems to have lost power.  It blows a little but not like it used to. 
anyone else have this problem?  How can I make it blow with a vengence again?  Thanks

You may want to check it for cracks, along the tube you can cover the end and spritz some soapy water and see if you get any bubbles.  Lay a cloth under it first...

theres like a rubber  balloon in saw   which blows air when saw is running   might need to replace that  i had to on mine

My blower is very weak. I bought a new bellows from DeWalt, Does anyone know how to replace it? Do you have to completely disassemble the saw? Dennis

mine has an opening on top  with 2 little screws   just follow hose back  and look for  a cover

I guess I will keep my mouth shut about Jaun hooking my air up to the air compressor.  The blowers on the saws just did not do the job good enough.  Other than that, I do not know what to tell ya.

Your bellows probably have a hole in them and need replacing

Thanks for the advice. guess will check out the bellows since I didn't find any leaks in the line.

The bellows on my DeWalt was a little weak to me, from day 1, so I installed an aqarium pump and hose system.  I sort of miss that now and will do the same thing for the Excallibur.

Hey Bill.  Is the Excaliber a whoile lot better than the DeWalt in your opinion??

Apples and oranges.  Lifting and bringing the arm back down is a bit of a hassle, but I like the smoother cutting.

I'm still getting used to it because I haven't had as much time to cut recently as I had before.  I'm looking forward to the first project I have to do bevel cutting on.

I'll post a review/opinion soon.

I am not Bill but have owned both the Dewalt and the excalibur. the ex. we have has a foot peddle to raise the upper arm can't believe we ever lived without it raising the arm with the peddle is second nature after only a short time.

The saw Jim refers to is the Excalibur originally made be Somerville Designs in Canada. It had a foot pedal to raise and lower the upper arm. Somerville redesigned the Excalibur saw without the foot pedal and that saw was painted purple. Somerville sold the Excalibur to General, which sent the manufacturing to china, and chanced the color to green.
