I have been into Scrolling for around 5 years and have had three different brands of Saws. All Cheapies and bit the dust within a couple years. All have came with their STANDS and thats how I used my scroll saw. Now I have been given (to me) the Cadilac of all Scroll saws. A 2001 Hedgner-Multimax 18 inch with ALL the attachments. I just DO NOT want to use it on a STAND.
Have had thoughts about a TABLE or same nature. Can any of our Family OFFER me any advice. Thank Ya's in Advance.... Danny :+}

I have mine mounted on one of my workbenches.

I may take my 788 off the stand and make something like this after the holidays!

Hey Dan. I have mine just sitting on a make-shift work bench. I also have a cheap bar stool that I welded a foot rest on, and mounted a foot on/off switch. But I think I'll build a stand to put it on. Dunk has his saw mounted on a stand that he had made. Kind of had something like that in mind. Dave 8)

Thanks for all of your info. I have boiled it down to a 3' by 4' table. Think
2 drawers on one side. Just high enough which is to the working area of the scroll saw so I can sit in a confortable computer chair with my legs under the table. Started off with my first saw mounted to the work table and stood for over a year cutting my crafts. Then went to a second saw with a stand and used a short bar stool type. Bad on back. Anyway this is just my idea at present, but I would LOVE any input for improvement or cons. Tks Danny:+}

i put industrial wheels under a chair because of bad legs & back. i can use all of my tools from this
chair. i cut the legs off my scrollsaws to match height of my chair. works real good. i also put
formica on old yellers top, no more waxing & if i sweat on it, just wipe off, no worry about rust. i
used industrial wheels because they have grease fittings & bearings in them. roll around on concrete
real easy

On November 18, 2010 I posted "My Scroll Saw Table" with photos. If you'd like to see what I did just scroll back to the 18th and find "My Scroll Saw Table". I had several nice compliments.

Hey Danny - Congratulations on the new saw!!!
-
Thank you my Good Friend. Can't wait. Going from a noicey saw to a quiet 0ne is going to be a huge difference.
-
Hey Bud....Yes I did view your pictures of your scroll saw stand. Guess I want to get away from having something in front of my legs Guess I will see when my Cadilac arrives. Hehe.... Danny :+}

Here's a couple of pictures of the stand I made for my Hegner. It's on wheels so I can move it around.
-
Hey Al, That's a nice set up you have there! Tell us about the chute in front of the saw.
-
;DIm trying to figure a way to set mine up so i can use my lazy boy chair.....lol
-
Dan, It's not really a chute on the front of the Stand, it has a bottom in it and the whole thing is removable. A key-hole on each side slips over a couple of screws so I can remove and dump it when necessary. Besides catching most of the sawdust that falls it a very handy place to toss pieces of scrap as I cut. It saves a lot of mess on the floor that i don't have to clean up, not that there isn't a lot anyway, LOL
-
Yes, that's a nice setup. looks great.
-
Al....Your set up looks like a piece of Fine Furniture. Gee all everyones ideas are Great. Guess I just wait till my Hegner arrives and I am sure all will fall into place. Thanks to all again.... Danny :+}

Thanks for all the ideas for stands,lots of options.

I am going to start building right away. I am not happy sitting on a bar stool. Hard on the back and legs, on and off
-
I have my Dremel set up on an old Craftsman workmate, you mean you're not supposed to keep moving your chair to keep up with the saw ???

ups34. Your right about sitting on a bar stool. I've been on one for about 6 hrs, [and no not in a bar], my backs killing me. dave :'(
