Title: Pinned or not?

So, I take it everyone likes the no-pin blades.  Why?

All the ones I just ordered came pinless.  Just curious.  Hope they will work with my new Porter Cable 16" saw.

I like pinless blades because they fit through smaller pilot holes, allowing me to do more fretwork-type projects.

Does your owners manuel tell you what type of blades to use?

I'm pretty sure I read it will use pinless.  I'll check out the manual again.

I'm pretty sure there is an adaptor for pinless blades.

i have the porter cable it uses both. make sure you put the blade in the bottom holder first. in the top holder make sure the blade is all the way back in the holder. i also took the screws out and sanded them. that will keep the blade from slipping. anymore questions u can send me a message.

According to the Porter Cable website it sez:

"# Tool-less blade holder design uses standard 5" length pinned and blank end blades"

G-Man, It absolutely does take both blades.  The largest objection to the pinned in blades is that they takes a large hole to make interior cuts.  Also, where the pin is punched through the blade creates a weak spot, so the break a little easier.  Your selection of blades is very limited with pinned in blades.  You will also find the better blades are not manufactured with pins.  The ones in the hardware store, both pinned and plain, are pretty much the bottom of the barrel as far as blades go.  Take the extra steps to get your hands on either Olson or Flying Dutchman blades.  They are actually less expensive that what you get at the hardware store and are superior to all others.
