Title: Persian art
Post by: Bill P on October 08, 2010, 11:42:41 pm
I just watched Prince of Persia, which made me Google Persian wood carving, art, etc.  Have a look at http://www.lightwavelaser.com/wall-art.htm and tell me you wouldn't want to cut some of these.

I am sure a lot of the cutters on here could do as well.  BUT the problem is people think our work is laser cut.
I had someone here this morning and they just about called me a liar when told I cut the pieces myself.

Don't you just love that, Judy!

My own son gave me that line when I made him an oak key chain. His comment, "Looks like you got a LASER, not a saw!"
I wanted to both slug him and HUG him!

If you have a look at my site (www.8by10woodworking.com), you'll see something I call the Animal Clock.  I took that clock to the Sisque Woodworker's Guild to show them what I do, and see if I could join them.  The gentleman said, "We don't accept people who use lasers."  I was pissed and proud at the same time, so I know what you mean GB.

I saw a demo of one of those laser machines.  It takes almost as long as it does to cut it.  I have been acused of using a laser before.  I tell people that it was cut one little hole at a time.
