Post by: jimbo on October 07, 2010, 07:23:00 pm
Here are some of the natural edge blanks I cut the other day, I put them on the lathe to size then then sanded them ready for cutting, they are from 9 1/2 " diam. and 1" thick all Cypress

Very nice.  Natural edge stuff sells around where I am.  Wish I had a lathe.  No room unfortunately.  Never have worked with Cypress is it difficult to work?

This lot is OK a bit soft, I was making tall vases on the lathe with it and it cut easy

Looks great Jimbo!

What type blades were you using? Mine was cut with a FD-New Spiral 2/0 and was an interesting dut!
