Over the line, under the line, on the line, where does one cut, I started out by trying to all ways cut on the line that is what the books say, BUT I had trouble with a lot of puzzles, SO now I cut where I think I should, I do not have the on going problem now of the keys breaking
What are your thoughts on this?

Unless the person that made the pattern examines your work, how does anyone know ???. Most of the time I cut on the line. But I agree there are times when I have to use my own judgment. 8)

there has been times where ive had to add my own line. sometimes when the pattern was very fragile i have even left out a line or two. i tend to break a blade when i rush myself cutting the pattern out sometimes also.

Over, under and on the line, When I start cutting I decide on doing one of them but end up doing all three on the same cut :) :) ::)

I try to split the line - notice I said try. I adjust the keys on my puzzles all the time because I think they need to be fatter or wider or I just didn't get the turn quick enough. Take off the pattern and noone knows. If it is something that really needs to be precise - I try harder.

I think that is one of the cool things about scrolling. As long as you are consistent you can do what feels right for you. ;D

I cut right on the line, Just like Russ said once you take the pattern off nobody knows but you, as far as puzzles go though if you wander to much you may have to adjust a little so the keys will fit.

Like Julie I split the line unless I feel the piece needs to be wider for better support. However I often will make my own line or adjust the line while cutting.
If you stray off the line, don't make an abrupt return to the line because it will show, make a gradual return and it won't be noticeable.

As my eyes get older... I just hope I'm close to the line! I do like patterns printed in colors, so I don't confuse the blade with the line.

Hey KP, I'm like you, can't see the line very well, Thats why I use a lighted Magnifier on my saw.
