I want to get a mini square for the scroll saw table and blade to make sure it is right on...where do I get a small tool like this? If anyone has one, or something similar that they use, what is it and where did you get it?
Thanks!

I wemt to "Target" in school supplys and got a whole set of clear plastic squares etc.
It has a protractor that works great for finding 90 degrees. I place the flat side on the table behind the blade and adjust until it lines up. It is also great for adjusting to any angle (either right tilt or left tilt).
Besides the protractor, it has an 8" ruler, a 45/45/90 triangle, and a 30/60/90 triangle. They all come in handy for drawing patterns and other shop uses.
I think it costs less than $5.00 but, it has been awhile since I bought it and cant rember.

Hey Chris, I have a clear plastic protractor that has a 90 degree marking as well as the other common markings on it. you place it in front of the blade and align the table to the blade. Unfortunately I cant find it in any catalog or on line source anymore.
You can find a 2" machinist square at www.sloanswoodshop.com.

I got mine when I first started this addiction when I ordered some supplies from Sloan's Woodworking.
I am pretty sure Rockler and WoodCraft both carry them also.

Rockler, woodcraft, seyco, sloans, just about any supplier of scrollsaw supplies has one.

I got mine free in the mail! You can too.
It is called a credit card. They are perfectly square and free. I keep it hanging right next to my saw. Works great!

Hey Dunk!
When has a "Credit Card" EVER been Free?!?!?!?!?

You don't need a square. The easiest way is to cut about 1/18" kerf in a scrap wood and then turn it around to fit it in the back of the blade. If it fits the table is square to the blade.

Hey Chris. I got mine at Harbour Freight, for a couple of bucks. I believe Menards carry them also. dave 8)

I've always just used an aerosol can to see if my blade is square to the table. Lean down and look at the blade head on and have the aerosol can on your table and line up the edge just to one side of the blade in front of it.

There is an article in the new Holiday Volume 2 from ScrollSaw &Craft about this.

A good place to find free cards is on top of the gas pumps at Wal-Mart. People toss those gas cards on top of the pump after they use it up.

Small plastic protractor works great for me. Also use FD Mikes kerf method when I don't to look for the protractor.LOL
Happy Scrolling

When you learn to use it as a square.....ONLY! I don't even have a credit card that is activated. Just my debit card. Why pay them interest to use my money.

Two VERY costly divorces and I vowed NEVER to have another credit card.
