Title: Dewalt 788 + Pegas Blade Clamps
Post by: Bucky 80 on March 10, 2020, 10:29:40 pm
Just got a new Dewalt 788.  RepIacing a 20 year old Ryobi.  Great little starter saw, but vibrates lots.
I have seen several reviews and sales info on the retrofit Pegas Blade Clamps kits.  Anybody have them and are they worth the expense.  I kind of like the added tensioning lever.  Any comments please.

Is the DW788 brand new?  If so it should not vibrate.   Our club has a bunch of older DW788 and some of those vibrate but that is usually a bearing issue.

I have a an EX-21 10 years old and I replaced the holders with the Pegas and they are fine.  They are much lighter that the EX.

I had a little sideways movement and now is gone.

I would hope more people respond as we have thought about what to do with our machines at the club.

The Pegas replacement for the Dewalt 788 does not come with a tension lever. It still uses the regular way to tension the 788. I don’t know about your vibration issue.
