Title: finish coatings flamble

I'm going to cut the sconce from Steve's newsletter today.  What finish coating would be safe for that sort of project with open flames?  I like to use tung oil, but I'm concerned it could possibly cause a fire hazard.  What about mineral oil, linseed oil or just polyurethane?

Once dry it’s not flammable. The wood will burn
