Title: Plywood Tearout?

My 1st scroll saw project was the USCG Veteran logo.
I make it from 12” x 12”, 1/8” thick premium baltic birch plywood.
I used blue painters tape on the front and glued my pattern to the top over the tape.
The top looks good after cutting but I had a lot of tear out on the back.

Being a very new scroll saw user, before I
start on my 2019 Christmas name ornaments here is my question:

Is their anything that I can do to have less tear out on my plywood?

  blade selection is probably the tear out problem, I use a #1  Pegas or Niqua that has reverse teeth

As Norm suggested, I suspect you have a blade issue.  You might try Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse #1 or #3
