Did anyone make the Oval Keychains in different sizes?I posted previous but didn't ask the right questions and I'm sorry about that. Before I order some hardwood I wanted to ask the people who have made some in different size wood how they turned out.I have 1/4 inch in popular but I thought it may be to thick but not sure.Thank you again. Hi, Tom,
I have made some of the oval key chains and I made them from 3/8" Oak and 3/8" maple.
I definitely do not think less than 1/4" would be sturdy enough to be carried in anyone's pocket
for very long.
Just my honest opinion.

If you watch the videos when Steve did it with Inlace he used 1/8 maple and 1/8 walnut as the backer.
When he did the video with the FIMO clay he used 1/4 and 1/4.
I did a long time ago and I used 1/4 maple backed with 1/4 maple and filled with FIMO. I recall rounding over the keychain so it was almost oval. (Did these in 2012 so hard to remember)
I found a picture of my first 2 but after that they were even more oval.

Hello,
After reading these replies, I want to clarify my first statement.
When I said I made 3/8" Maple and 3/8" oak, those were separate key chains and the total size was 3/8" with no backer.
I hope I didn't confuse anybody thinking I meant 3/8' with a 3/8" backer.
