Title: Trivet

Steve, I am making a couple of rose trivets from your pattern and was wondering if you had a recommendation for finishing them.  Because they are trivets that might have hot or at least warm items sitting on them would you use Poly or just BLO?

I have made a few trivets and if going to be used with hot stuff, I would avoid poly.  I usually dip in BLO or Walnut oil.

Most trivets get used for decorations only so if that is the case I would do with whatever.  I usually don't like very shiny.

Thanks, Don, I was thinking the same thing about shiny. Will use BLO on them then.
