I am busy cutting the new ornaments from Steve in Baltic Birch.
I usually paint these ornaments as I don't like the edge.
Has anyone done this years ornaments and finished yet.
This a sample from a couple of years ago.
Thanks

Hi Don
Yes I am the same as you. I have done Steve's ornaments on Baltic Birch and also paint them. I have done this year's and still in process of painting them. Sorry I didn't take any pictures. I will when they are finished.

Hi Clem
Are you doing the ones stacked 3 high or just the name ones.
I have the personalized that are 3 layers thick. I am not sure how to paint each layer.
Please post picture when done.
Thanks

I am not finished cutting yet. I am doing 12. I ordered the layered ornaments last year but did not cut. I ordered 6 more this year and have changed the names for the whole family. (Stack cut 5 at a time, I then split the name ones apart and do one at a time)
I had a void in the BB on the very first name and it had a break in the edge. I tried to fix but did not like it so I am cutting another and using that to test.
I have sprayed with Gold Glitter and the boss wants them all sprayed. I will have to do for each layer before assembly.
I am glad I started early as it has been and will be a fair amount of work.
Will post a picture when done.
Don
PS: Retired and love doing these. We use as place settings at Christmas dinner.

I cut last year's style with baltic birch. For the finish, I covered in mineral oil, then sprayed clear Varathan. I don't mind the look of the edges on the baltic birch. This is one of ten. Stack cut the back and middle layers.
(hope the link works)
