Butt them together then several layers of Gorilla tape over some popsicle stick splints.
;D that's what I would do

The hoses should fit on standard connectors but  depending on the material of the connector you are using you may be able to cut a slit in the connector pipe allowing it to taper in some and the hose should fit.

I have found a couple of ways to join dust collection hose to machines, especially if you make your own connection to the machine. This http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/dryer-vent-draft-blocker-0642904p.html (http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/dryer-vent-draft-blocker-0642904p.html) is just the right size. (Remove the flapper first.  ;D) The hose slips over it nicely and it also fits into standard ventilation pipes.  Another possibility is a 40 ounce juice can, the one with the two sets of ribs.  Unfortunately they are slightly larger than the vent blocker so it is a bit harder to slip the dust hose over it.

Some other possibilities

http://www.busybeetools.com/products/connector-4in-rubber-with-clamps.html (http://www.busybeetools.com/products/connector-4in-rubber-with-clamps.html)

As an aside, these http://www.busybeetools.com/products/hose-clamp-with-key-4in.html (http://www.busybeetools.com/products/hose-clamp-with-key-4in.html) are easier to use than the one that need a screw driver or wrench.

Hope this give you some ideas.
