i thought i would share this with everyone so here is a nice wand type metal detector for just under $17 shipped
i have used this same one on old barn boards before sawing, planing or surfacing to check for nails.

I always use Metal Detectors on questionable wood. Even those close. The only injury I have gotten from a scrollsaw was when a blade ran into a hidden nail. The nail had been countersunk then putted over and It hit it full speed. Had to go t a doctor to have a piece of the blade removed from my cheek. Yep, good investment.

I use mine for finding money and gold.
sometimes I use it on my girlfriend LOL..... SLAP.....
