Title: Flying Duck Intarsia
Post by: Claymore on May 17, 2015, 02:30:17 pm
Hi,
Just finished my latest Intarsia project (still has to be lacquered but easier to photograph before doing so)
As you can see its a Flying Duck approx size 22" x 20" x 3/4"  woods used Oak/Walnut/Silver Birch and Beech with a Teak Frame  as usual all woods from knackered charity shop furniture (the stuff they normally smash up and stick in the skips)  as i use mainly small pieces its a great source for cheap hardwood's and they still make some money from me buying them so everyone's happy.
I am slowly speeding up certain stages with my Intarsias and using stuff like the Sand-Flee Polishing mop saves loads of time and gives a lovely finish (it also polishes your fingers which tend to sting a bit lol)
Hope you like it
Cheers
Brian

Thanks everyone  :)  It was a nice one to do and although not many pieces i think the chunky effect works well and has given me a few more ideas for my own patterns.
Cheers
